Specialists of the worldwide leading metrological institutes discussed the progress in primary thermometry and methods for determining the Boltzmann constant since the "Workshop on Methods for New Determinations of the Boltzmann Constant" held at the same place on 21 January 2005. The topic is of special interest because of the intention to redefine the base unit of the temperature, the kelvin, by fixing the value of the Boltzmann constant.
